I’ve heard this advice before:

Eat more protein to burn more fat.

But it wasn’t until today that I saw some solid evidence with numbers to go along with it.

Protein helps burn fat.

This is good news if you want to know how much protein you might need to maximize fat loss.

But first…

What are the benefits of protein?

High protein helps preserve lean (muscle) mass.

If your goal is all-out weight loss then this won’t help. If this is you, cut off your leg and you’ve just lost a LOT of weight. You’re welcome 😉

BUT, if you want to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way – by burning fat and improving your body composition – this is for you.
