How will biohacking make you healthier?
Let’s face it… You’re not getting any younger and your health may be declining.
Unfortunately your doctor isn’t helping (nearly as much as she could, that is) and could actually be killing you faster!
As people look for ways to not just avoid disease – but want to perform and feel their best, biohacking continues gaining momentum around the world.
But…
What is biohacking, anyway?!
You’ll learn more about biohacking and how it will make you healthier soon enough. But first, here’s what’s in this update:

Back to Biohacking Your Body…
During a recent Biohackers Chiang Mai meetup, I lead a discussion on the topic of Biohacking. I went into how Biohacking can improve your health and your life. I also attempted to answer the question:
What is biohacking, anyway?!
What problems does biohacking solve? Generally Biohacking looks to solve just about every health issue you could imagine… from losing weight to beating cancer – and everything in between.
What are the benefits of biohacking? Biohacking upgrades, optimizes or improves your mind and body so that
- you have more energy,
- your brain works better,
- you have more resilience to fight off illness,
- you have stronger connections with other people,
- you are excited about life,
- you have a strong libido (as well as strong muscles!),
- you essentially feel better and
- you will live longer.
What, then, is biohacking? Biohacking is a buzz word. I’ll admit that biohacking is a bit of a buzzword that doesn’t have any one exact definition. That’s what’s both good and bad about it (in my opinion).
It’s something that’s very much subjective. That is, you ask ten people for the definition of biohacking and you’ll get ten different answers.
My perspective on biohacking.
I see biohacking as a way to experiment with and take control of the environment around me – as well as my own body – to find the most effective and enjoyable ways to boost my energy and overall well-being.
Background of biohacking. The term biohacking was made popular by Dave Asprey, the founder of the company Bulletproof. On their website they have a couple of definitions for biohacking:
Biohacking: (verb, noun)
(v): To change the environment outside of you and inside of you so you have full control of your biology, to allow you to upgrade your body, mind, and your life.
(n) The art and science of becoming superhuman. [ref]
Here are some other popular definitions of biohacking:
Biohacking can be defined as modifying the human organism in a skillful or clever way to optimize performance and health. [ref]
Biohacking is essentially the practice of changing our chemistry and our physiology through science and self-experimentation.[ref]
Biohacking “refers to managing one’s own biology using a combination of medical, nutritional and electronic techniques.”
For example: “I’m going to do some biohacking on my hangover by getting some IV hydration with essential nutrients.” [ref]
More of my perspective on biohacking. I created and shared an article on my website a while back in an attempt to explain biohacking. Although it’s already a bit dated (based on my own rapid evolution in health education), I think I brought up at least a few good points.
In the article you’ll learn more about the benefits, definition and some examples of things you can do to make your life better with biohacking.
Biohacking is a movement. Modern biohacking encompasses just about everything health, wellness, and beyond. Rather than leave the fate of your health up to doctors in our current state of medicine (for better and worse), it encourages and empowers people (and you!) to take control of their own health.
Do you fear biohacking? Some people have learned to fear biohacking. It could be because of something negative they heard about it. Perhaps that it’s dangerous. It could be a negative association with the term “hacking”. This seems common – but unfortunate because…
Biohacking is a community. Most important to me is the community that is growing around biohacking. Biohacking galvanizes people who prioritize (1) living a healthy lifestyle and (2) continuously learning how to optimize their health.
Here in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we’ve brought together 165 (to date) people who are interested in optimizing their bodies, minds and spirits through Biohacking. More important, they want to hear from people and share in a real / live, offline group! (Find our Biohackers Chiang Mai meetup here – or find other Biohacker meetups around the world here.)
What level of biohacking do you prefer? I think referring to the level of biohacking can be helpful. I would say that I’m mostly a Level 1 biohacker. That is, I focus on pretty basic stuff. Mainly diet, exercise and nutrition. And then air, light and water. And mindset.
The upper levels of biohacking (perhaps Level 5) might involve things like cybernetics and gene editing. I have yet to directly change/hack my own biology at that level!
The highest level I’ve reached is probably with things like neurofeedback and injecting peptides into my body.
Get “more bang for your buck” with Biohacking. To keep things simple, you an keep in mind that, when it comes to biohacking or hacking anything you do, we’re looking at ways to get the most bang for your buck.
That is, optimizing your health in a faster and/or more enjoyable way… something you can learn more about in my coaching and courses. For example, in the Master Faster Detox Challenge we look at how to biohack your fasting so that it’s easier and more enjoyable.
What topics are discussed around biohacking? There are too many to list but I did brainstorm a list the other day. Here’s what I came up with:

Biohacking Social #24
Thanks for everyone who attended our Biohacking Social meetup.
During the Biohackers Chiang Mai Biohacking Social, we touched on a LOT of different biohacking topics during our meetup, from vaccinations to orgasms, and MANY topics in between.

What I’m up to…
I have a lot of things going on these days – including biohacking, fasting, and moving into a new home…
As you read above the Biohackers Chiang Mai group continues with 165 members, weekly meetups, and a lot of fascinating conversation.
I suddenly have a lot more free time on my hands after getting fired from my job (as an app developer for a company developing a social media app for outdoors enthusiasts). Overall, the work was a good experience.
I’m disappointed and relieved with the new change…and I’m excited to bring much more of my energy to the communities I serve as I continue on my path to re-unite people with nature – and better health!
Chiang Mai Fasting Support Group. I started a new group here in Chiang Mai where will be meeting in person to discuss all things fasting – as well as commiserating how much it sucks not eating food! (Click the link to learn more about the fasting group and to join us.)
This month’s Free Fasting Challenge starts on the 29th of December this month. This is a “choose your own adventure” style of fasting in which you choose how you fast – what you do and don’t consume, as well as how long you go. My plan is to go for about 3 days and incorporate some dry fasting. Click here to learn more and to join the Free Fasting Challenge. It’s a great way to finish off 2019 with a detox!
I’m reading The Oxygen Advantage by Patrick McKeown. It’s a fascinating read (or audiobook) on improving your health by simply changing your breath – and stopping what is called “over breathing”.
This ties in well with my recent experiences of doing a full weekend of Wim Hof style breathwork, ice baths and more with Jeremy Ginsburg’s Infinity Camp 2019. Overall it was an amazing event and I recommend everyone try something like this – although I admit that Jeremy’s style of Infinity breathwork is my favorite!
I also participated in an exclusive VIP plant ceremony at the end of the camp. I’m happy to discuss this in more detail with anyone who is interested. (Click to learn how this lead to my newfound knowledge around the real truth behind the story of Christmas. 😉 )
Are you missing something?
Yes! You are missing something; that is if you haven’t read the last newsletter about The Power of “Good” vs “Bad” Stress, be sure to check it out.
Do you want to detox and become a “Master Faster”?
Although keto is the craze these days for the latest diet trend, after years of personal experience, research, and working with clients, I truly believe that fasting is the BEST (dietary) approach to achieve your health goals – to cleanse & detox your body while burning fat.
If you’re interested in both learning and practicing all of the amazing benefits of fasting simply send me a message and let me know that you’re interested. We’ll set up a call to make sure you’re a good fit for the Master Faster Detox challenge and, if so, you’ll soon be on your way to lifelong health!
