Thriving under four degrees of icy immersion, 11 stalwart souls took part in our most recent Zen Strength Breathwork + Ice Bath workshop at ALT_Chiang Mai. From newcomers to seasoned participants, each person contributed their unique energy and curiosity to create an unforgettable experience.
Our day began with a round of introductions. The group was a healthy mix of returning attendees and new faces, three of whom were experiencing their first ice bath. Despite some initial nervousness, all participants were eager to learn and ready to take on the challenge that lay ahead.
We dove into the day with a brief overview of the many benefits of breathwork and cold exposure. These practices have been shown to enhance recovery, sharpen focus, boost mood, and improve overall health and wellbeing.
Next, we embarked on a breathwork journey guided by Brian Kelly of Breath Masters, the institute where I received my Breath Coach certification. The session was nothing short of euphoric, as our breaths deepened and synched with the rhythm.
After reaching a heightened state through breathwork, it was time to brave the ice bath. With the water temperature dipping down to a chilling 4 degrees Celsius, the tub was more than ready to welcome its occupants. The three newbies showed extraordinary tenacity, each managing to stay immersed in the icy water, gaining more than just bragging rights.
Every participant left the workshop with a sense of accomplishment and newfound respect for their own resilience. For those who had never before attempted an ice bath, the experience was particularly poignant.
In the face of physical challenge and mental hurdles, the group emerged more connected, invigorated, and ready to take on life with renewed strength and vigour. Here at Zen Strength, we’re not just fostering a community, we’re empowering each individual to unlock their full potential.
Stay tuned for more updates on our future workshops. We can’t wait to share the benefits of breathwork and cold exposure with you, helping you unlock your Zen Strength. Remember – it’s not just about surviving the cold, it’s about thriving in life.
