How do you biohack your weight loss?

It’s up to you how you decide to biohack your weight loss. Here I’ll briefly share how I biohacked my weight loss.

Fasting is the Simplest way to Lose Weight

It seems that everyone is looking for a magic pill they can take and watch the fat on their bodies disappear. Others are trying different foods to lose weight. Others are exercising to lose weight.

Unfortunately for people focusing on these things, they’re missing the simplest thing they can do to lose weight by burning fat: Fasting.

That’s right, instead of taking supplements, eating and exercising, you simply take a break from eating.

I’ll be clear: My goal for this 3-day fast was not weight loss. But there’s no doubt about it, if you fast for 3 days, you’re bound to burn fat.

What I’m going to share is how you too can do something similar to what I did in order to make your fast both easier and more effective.

How?

You can take supplements along with your fast.

I took ketone supplements throughout my fast to make it both easier and more effective.

Instead of suffering through my fast, I had more energy than I usually do during extended fasts – and I got into ketosis faster thus boosting the benefits of fasting.

You can also exercise while fasting.

I also exercised every day of my fast which is a new fasting experiment for me. In order to help with the exercise I also supplemented with essential amino acids.Fasted FitDeck

Based on prior experience fasting, I was worried that my muscles would get sore and I wouldn’t recover. However, I didn’t overdo the exercise and, with the supplements, I was able to power through it – without excessive fatigue or muscle soreness.

My Trip to an Animal Farm

A friend of mine was interested in going to a farm where he wanted to see how they slaughter their cows.

I was interested – but more so in seeing the farm and animals than watching them slaughter and butcher a cow.

Although curious, I was secretly relieved when he told me they wouldn’t be slaughtering a cow that day. We went anyway to check things out.

I had imagined a big open field of pasture blanketed in tall green grass with happy cows roaming freely. But unfortunately what I saw was quite the opposite…

But before I get into how the farm didn’t meet my hopes, I want to highlight some of the good…

The woman who ran the farm seemed so happy and proud of her farm and seemed to truly love the animals. She took good care to feed them. There were a few dozen cattle, chickens, goats, sheep, geese and a few buffalo in the field.

So, although she took care of the animals, they were mostly tied up with nowhere to go in what you might call a confined feed lot.

I was also hoping this might be “the farm”… The farm I could trust so source our beef we use to make beef jerky. Not even close.

The “Sacred Cow”

I finished reading the book “Sacred Cow” by Diana Rodgers and Robb Wolf.

As a follower of the Bulletproof Diet, I’ve already been a big fan of eating grass-fed beef. After reading Sacred Cow, not only do I see that cows provide some of the best nutrition, they also can help our planet by improving the soil.

That is, when cattle are managed properly using regenerative agriculture practices, we’ve seen major improvements in the soil.
